When you're building products and shipping software, you want to give your work a special touch which can be best described as your signature—all your subsequent work should strive to look and feel distinct through this unique voice.Brands/products strives to create its own identity, whether it be through providing a user experience that stands out, or designing an eye-catching logo. Take apps and services that are extremely popular, such as Notion, Discord, and Figma. Each and every one of the aforementioned platforms have a different feel to them, from the user's standpoint. Their teams are very good at consistently invoking the same feelings across different platforms, events, and app versions. Projects should be a reflection of the teams and individuals who built them. Of course, they should also reflect the wants and needs of the users and backers, so find a happy medium. Your personal identity is the culmination of everyone you've ever interacted with or talked to; by the same token, your product should be a representation of everyone around its use and development. If not, you might spend much more effort trying to be like everyone else.
